The Brief

The Owners’ Box required a specialist finish that would feel appropriate for a premium hospitality environment within a major new stadium.

The ceiling finish needed to introduce texture and visual interest without feeling heavy or overpowering. In a space designed around comfort, atmosphere and the matchday experience, the selected surface had to support the wider interior scheme while adding a more refined material quality than a standard painted finish.

TP Bennett’s design called for a finish that could bring subtle movement, depth and architectural character to the ceilings, while remaining understated enough for a high-end private hospitality setting.

Finish Specification

Viero’s Natural Quartz Finish was selected for the ceilings within the Owners’ Box and applied across more than 250m².

The finish offers a subtle textured appearance with natural movement, making it particularly well suited to larger ceiling areas where a flat painted surface can feel too plain. Its understated character allows it to add depth and interest while maintaining a calm and refined overall appearance.

A selection of colours was used within the scheme, allowing the finish to respond to the different areas and design details within the Owners’ Box.

Following the initial installation, the finish was extended into the private entrance corridors leading to the box, where it was applied across both walls and ceilings. This helped create continuity between the arrival route and the main hospitality space.

Installation Process

The project involved applying Viero’s Natural Quartz Finish across large ceiling areas within the Owners’ Box before continuing into the private entrance corridors.

Ceiling applications require careful control of texture, movement and consistency, particularly across larger areas and in spaces with integrated lighting, architectural details and other surrounding finishes.

The Viero UK installation team worked to ensure the finish remained refined and consistent throughout, with enough movement to add character without becoming too dominant within the interior scheme.

The later extension into the private entrance corridors required the finish to work across both vertical and horizontal surfaces, helping to create a consistent material language from arrival through to the Owners’ Box.

The Result

The completed finish brought a subtle but distinctive surface quality to the Owners’ Box and private entrance areas at Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Across more than 250m² of ceiling space, the Natural Quartz Finish added depth, texture and quiet character, helping to elevate the stadium’s premium hospitality environment while remaining understated and appropriate to the wider design.

The fact that the finish was later continued into the private entrance corridors reflects the strength of the completed result and its suitability for the project.

For Viero UK, the project is a strong example of how a specialist textured finish can be used within high-profile sporting and hospitality environments to create a more considered and memorable interior experience.
