Finish Specification

Viero UK's Signature finish Veneto was specified for the project, applied as a matt Venetian plaster finish across walls and ceilings in selected public areas.

Unlike high-gloss Venetian plaster, the matt Veneto finish provided a softer and more contemporary surface, allowing the dark blue and light green tones to sit comfortably within the overall design scheme.

The finish was chosen for its ability to add subtle movement, depth and texture while remaining calm and refined. This made it particularly well suited to the hotel’s front-of-house spaces, where the surfaces needed to feel considered, durable and appropriate for a premium hospitality environment.

By using Veneto across multiple areas, the scheme achieved a sense of continuity between the reception, bar, lift lobbies, washrooms and dining spaces, while the variation in colour helped define different zones within the hotel.

The Result

The completed finish brought a more refined and tactile quality to the refurbished interiors.

Across the hotel’s public areas, the matt Veneto Venetian plaster created a subtle backdrop with depth, movement and character, helping the spaces feel more considered without overpowering the design.

The project demonstrates how Venetian plaster can be used within hospitality interiors to create a premium surface finish that is both understated and memorable.
