Telling the neighbourhood story

Nestled in the heart of London’s theatreland in Leicester Square, Hotel Indigo opened for business in April 2018 featuring our Marmorin Hydro and other bespoke lime plasters across its 95 bedrooms.

The client set a design brief to use our range of polished plasters to tell the neighbourhood story. The products selected needed to work with the light and give a reflective glimmer effect.

A team of our dedicated applicators worked on this project over a number of months to deliver polished plaster finishes which were described by the staff at the hotel as ‘warm and welcoming’ for guests.

The project also featured our specialist decorative plaster in all of the en suites in the hotel. 

Marmorin Hydro is particularly suited for use in damp and humid areas. It effectively protects lime-based surfaces from damage caused by humidity and splashes of water.

Hotel Marketing Manager Aria Gianquitto said: "The feedback from management at the hotel has been extremely positive. People like the fact it's not the kind of thing you usually see. It is fantastic to have a break from tiled bathrooms and all the colours used are so warm and welcoming for our guests."

“Our vision was to reflect the distressed walls of old local theatres and to bring some depth to the wall finishes throughout the building. We were interested to explore possibilities of polished plaster to reflect the historic patina of a theatre. We are very pleased with the result which is elegant and refined. It is a very rich finish which can tell a story through the different layers of the application.”
